Learn the art of robot design and construction at the 180 Studios Sumo Robot Workshop.
Assemble your own Sumo robot with parts supplied in this workshop then compete for champion in the workshop finale match.
In this four part workshop we will discuss basic robot design and key concepts for making a winning sumo robot. See how the robot parts designed in Fusion 360 CAD are being fabricated using 180 studios laser cutter and 3D printer. Assemble your own robot by performing some sheet metal work, making wire harnesses and soldering them to motors, sensors and an Arduino microcontroller. Program your Arduino or simply upload our pre programmed basic sumo robot code. Time and skill level permitting, you can customize and upgrade your Robot. The final workshop session students will compete against other students for top sumo robot.

1) Saturday March 24th 9AM: Workshop #1: Theory, instructions, sumo rules and demonstrations. Do the sheet metal work. Classroom, multimedia room and metal shop
2) Saturday March 31st 9AM: Workshop #2: Robot Workshop - Robot Assembly. Electronics lab.
3) Saturday April 7th 9AM: Workshop #3: Program and test your robot. Computer room.
3.5) Wednesday April 11th (6-8PM): Circuit Hacking night -Build party. An opportunity to finish or embellish your robot. Electronics lab
4) Saturday April 14th 9AM: Workshop #4: Completion Party: Classroom.
